Principal Engineer, Electrical Design
Role Summary
Lead digital design efforts for advanced digital power-management ICs. Work on RTL design, verification, debug, simulation, and automation within a cross-functional hardware design team.
Serve as technical owner for assigned design blocks and mentor junior engineers while driving design quality and delivery.
Experience Level
Senior - 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include design, verification, and technical leadership for digital blocks across pre- and post-silicon phases.
- Develop, debug, and verify digital designs in pre- and post-silicon environments.
- Create and run tests to verify design intent against specifications.
- Develop and improve automation scripts and design flows.
- Manage design requirements, architecture, and implementation for assigned blocks.
- Research and recommend tools to improve the design process.
- Act as functional digital design lead on projects and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- 10+ years of relevant industry experience in digital design projects.
- Proficient in RTL (Verilog) with CDC / RDC / LINT clean design practices.
- Experience debugging mixed-signal designs using SystemVerilog-based testbenches and gate-level simulation.
- Experience with industry-standard serial interfaces (I2C, I3C, SPI, I2S, etc.).
- Strong analytical and systematic debug methodology.
- Experience with Cadence or Synopsys design tool flows.
- Proven hands-on technical leadership and successful project delivery; good written and verbal communication.
Nice-to-have / preferred
- Proficient in scripting languages such as Python or Perl.
- Knowledge of ARM Cortex-M series processors and computer architecture.
- Exposure to mixed-signal designs and basic analog understanding.
- Experience in digital backend flow (synthesis / STA / P&R) and full design flow from spec to backend.
- Experience with PMBus/SMBus, AVSBus, SVID, or SVI3.
Education Requirements
BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (EE/ECE).
