Job Title

Principal Engineer, DRAM PI

Role Summary

Work as a Process Integration Engineer in the DRAM R&D Memory Group to develop and integrate critical DRAM technology modules in a 300mm R&D facility adjacent to manufacturing. Define structural and electrical requirements for modules and enable technology transfer from R&D into production.

Experience Level

Level: Senior. The posting specifies an advanced technical role; the position requires demonstrated semiconductor industry experience (see Education Requirements for formal degree and years).

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Engineer and develop novel process flows for critical DRAM modules, creating structural and electrical specifications and design rules.
  • Optimize new process flows to improve device performance and reduce cost.
  • Design experiments (DOE), perform statistical analysis, and apply results to improve yield.
  • Work cross-functionally with Design, Product Engineering, Process Development, Modeling, Yield Enhancement, Failure Analysis, Parametric, and Quality teams to identify and resolve issues.
  • Summarize complex problems, define actions, build consensus, and drive solutions.
  • Define and achieve project sub‑milestones within program timelines.
  • Collaborate closely with Manufacturing during transfer from R&D to production.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • Thorough knowledge of mainstream memory technologies (DRAM, NAND, NOR, SRAM).
  • Expertise in device physics and understanding of process integration.
  • Proficiency with data analysis, design of experiments (DOE), and statistical techniques.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate technical issues clearly.

Nice-to-have:

  • Proven success collaborating in dynamic, multi-tasking team environments.
  • Strong organizational and team-building skills.

Education Requirements

Required: MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field plus 5 years of semiconductor industry experience. Preferred: PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
