Principal Engineer - Design Verification
Role Summary
Lead design verification for SoC and subsystem projects in Marvell's Custom Compute & Storage business unit, delivering verification architecture, UVM-based testbenches, VIP integration, and coverage analysis to achieve silicon-quality verification.
Provide technical leadership, drive verification process improvements, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with global cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities
Accountable for end-to-end SoC/subsystem verification and team technical leadership.
- Define verification architecture and verification plans for SoC/subsystem projects.
- Develop UVM-based system-level testbenches and integrate in-house components and complex VIPs (ARM, Cadence, Synopsys, etc.).
- Create and debug UVM and assembly/C test cases; perform RTL and gate-level verification and coverage analysis.
- Conduct reviews across verification phases to ensure quality and on-schedule deliverables; drive process improvements.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and monitor day-to-day technical tasks.
- Collaborate with global teams and manage deliverables across time zones.
- Support hardware emulation, formal verification activities, and version-control workflows as needed.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Proven SoC/subsystem verification experience on ARM-based SoCs; knowledge of ARM architecture and AMBA standards (AXI-4, CHI, ACE).
- Experience with industry interfaces such as DDR, eMMC, PCIe, Ethernet, and USB.
- Strong UVM testbench development skills (BFMs, monitors, scoreboards) and ability to write and debug UVM and C tests.
- Familiarity with verification toolchains from Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor, or ARM; experience with assertion-based formal verification.
- Proficient scripting skills (Tcl, Perl) and familiarity with SystemC TLMs and hardware emulation support.
- Experience with version control tools (CVS, SVN, Git).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- May require eligibility to access export-controlled technology; candidates may be subject to export license review.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience in ARM boot environment and low-level software interactions.
