Job Title
Principal Engineer, Analog IC Design
Role Summary
Join the CE-AMS analog design team to architect and design high-performance analog and mixed-signal circuits for networking transceivers and related products. The role covers circuit architecture, design, verification, layout supervision, silicon bring-up and cross-team technical documentation.
Experience Level
Senior-level engineer; the posting requests 6+ years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities span the full analog/mixed-signal project lifecycle from specification to silicon bring-up.
- Architect and design analog circuit blocks (PLLs, data converters, oscillators) and high-speed SerDes components (CTLE, FFE, DFE, CDR, line drivers).
- Develop new circuit techniques for next-generation SerDes and high-speed links.
- Lead projects, coordinate technical tasks, and supervise analog layout for advanced process nodes (FinFET).
- Create circuit design specifications and perform system-level verification and pre-tapeout validation.
- Support silicon bring-up, lab validation, debugging and post-silicon characterization.
- Maintain clear technical documentation and communicate across teams.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Strong analog design fundamentals and hands-on experience with PLLs, data converters, oscillators and high-speed SerDes blocks (CTLE, FFE, DFE, CDR, line drivers).
- Proficiency with analog design and verification tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, ADE and post-layout extraction tools.
- Knowledge of signal integrity, noise reduction techniques, and multi-GHz low-jitter clock generation and distribution.
- Understanding of analog layout considerations in FinFET processes and their impact on high-speed designs.
- Experience with system-level pre-tapeout analog validation and lab chip bring-up and debugging.
- Strong written and verbal communication and documentation skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Technical or people management experience.
Education Requirements
Master's degree and/or PhD preferred in Electrical Engineering or related technical fields. The posting specifies 6+ years of relevant experience.
