Principal Engineer, Analog Design (Team Lead)
AmbiqJob Title
Principal Engineer, Analog Design (Team Lead)
Role Summary
Lead Ambiq's analog design capability for power management, clocking, and data converters across multiple process nodes. Balance individual technical contribution (high-risk circuit architecture and transistor-level design) with people leadership to deliver production-ready analog subsystems.
Experience Level
Senior. Years of experience not specified.
Responsibilities
Accountable for technical direction, team leadership, cross-functional alignment, and delivery of analog subsystems from specification through production.
- Define multi-generation architecture and block-level specifications for analog subsystems (PMUs, clocking, ADC/DACs).
- Lead, mentor, hire, and manage a team of analog design engineers; drive career development and performance management.
- Set technical standards and design methodology for circuit architecture, verification, and layout supervision.
- Make final calls on highest-risk circuit architecture and verification trade-offs.
- Conduct or supervise transistor-level analog IC design for the most critical or novel blocks.
- Chair design reviews and ensure resolution of complex action items across projects.
- Align analog/digital interface specifications and verification strategy with digital teams.
- Own analog test and validation strategy from prototype bring-up through high-volume production.
- Represent analog engineering in cross-functional roadmap, customer, and executive discussions.
- Drive continuous improvement in design flow, tools, and reuse strategy across the analog team.
Requirements
Must-have technical and leadership capabilities; nice-to-have skills that support Ambiq's low-power analog roadmap.
- Must-have: Proven technical leadership in analog IC design and architecture for PMUs, clocking, and data converters.
- Must-have: Hands-on transistor-level analog design experience and ability to make final technical decisions on high-risk circuits.
- Must-have: Experience setting design/verification methodology and supervising layout for analog blocks.
- Must-have: Experience leading and developing engineers, including hiring and performance management.
- Must-have: Experience with advanced process nodes (examples noted: 22nm, 12nm) and production bring-up strategy.
- Must-have: Onsite presence required (5 days/week) in Singapore.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with sub-/near-threshold or ultra-low-power analog techniques and with customer-facing technical discussions.
Education Requirements
Not specified.
