Job Title

Principal Engineer, Analog Design (Power)

Role Summary

Lead analog IC design for power-management blocks in portable consumer PMICs. Work with cross-site mixed-signal teams to define architectures, design transistor-level circuits, and deliver silicon-qualified power solutions.

Expect customer engagement with Tier-1 OEMs and responsibilities for mentoring, technical leadership, and block/system ownership throughout architecture, implementation, and silicon bring-up.

Experience Level

Senior — typically 10+ years as an analog/mixed-signal IC designer, with proven leadership and independent ownership of complex power blocks.

Responsibilities

Design, validate, and deliver high-performance power-management IP and support its integration into mixed-signal SoCs.

  • Define device and block architectures for high-performance mixed-signal products.
  • Transistor-level circuit design and simulation for power-management circuits.
  • Architect and implement switching regulators (buck/boost, multi‑mode/multi‑phase), LDOs, and charge‑pump converters.
  • Develop closed-loop control architectures: compensation, loop stability, and transient-response optimization.
  • Lead silicon bring-up, debug, characterization, and optimization across process, voltage, and temperature corners.
  • Integrate power blocks into larger mixed-signal systems and collaborate with system architects for end-to-end power solutions.
  • Present technical results to internal teams and customers; mentor and support junior engineers.
  • Support layout review, lab evaluation and test to ensure requirements are met.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for immediate impact.

  • 10+ years experience as an analog/mixed-signal IC designer, focused on power-management circuits.
  • Deep, demonstrable expertise in power-management design: switching regulators, LDOs, charge pumps, and control-loop architectures.
  • Transistor-level design and circuit simulation experience; familiarity with recommended design and verification flows and tools.
  • Experience with silicon bring-up, debug, and optimization; able to deliver designs that meet functional, power and timing targets.
  • Experience integrating power-management and analog blocks into complex SoCs or microcontroller systems.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills; experience working in multi-site cross-functional teams and mentoring engineers.
  • Willingness to travel (~10%).

Nice-to-have:

  • Design experience with amplifiers, DACs, ADCs, bandgaps, and bias circuits.
  • Experience with multi‑phase converters, ultra‑low‑power techniques, and fast‑transient designs for portable applications.

Education Requirements

Electronic Engineering degree (required by posting).

Compensation & Other

Posted Italy base salary range: €69,300 to €100,350 (base). Position may qualify for discretionary performance bonus and local benefits; range may vary by hire location.

Role may require export licensing review for certain candidates per U.S. regulations.
