Principal Engineer

Role Summary

Responsible for semiconductor SoC design, development, and testing across process technologies and market segments. Focus on device-to-architecture optimizations, hardware/software co-design, energy management, and system-level performance, power, and thermal tradeoffs.

Collaborates with performance, thermal, and system teams to prototype and deliver energy-optimized SoC solutions and automation for tradeoff analysis.

Experience Level

Senior — Principal-level. Listing specifies approximately 5 years of relevant engineering experience.

Responsibilities

Deliver technical leadership in SoC design and system optimization. Typical responsibilities include:

• Design and develop SoC solutions ranging from low-power to high-performance devices.
• Perform device-to-architecture optimizations and hardware/software co-design.
• Research and develop methodologies and architectures for system resource control and holistic energy management.
• Identify and implement energy-reduction techniques for CPU, GPU, camera, DDR, and ML accelerators at core and SoC level.
• Evaluate and experiment with EDA tools and develop automation for system tradeoff analysis.
• Collaborate with performance, thermal, and system teams on workload and use-case analysis.
• Participate in prototyping and system-level solution development.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

• 5+ years of experience in semiconductor/SoC or related design engineering roles.
• Experience with device models: NLDM, AOCV, CCS, ECSM, LVF.
• Proficiency with Cadence IC Design Suite, Innovus, and Synopsys PrimeTime.
• Scripting experience with TCL and Perl.
• Hands-on skills in physical design, synthesis, physical verification, place-and-route, and floorplanning.
• Experience with timing and test chip blocks.

Nice-to-have: experience with system-level energy optimization, EDA automation for tradeoff analysis, and hardware/software co-design.

Education Requirements

Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or foreign equivalent in a related field is specified. The posting also specifies five years of relevant experience.
