Principal Electrical Engineer
Role Summary
Lead analog and mixed-signal IC design for radiation‑hardened power management and precision analog products targeted at space markets. Work on ultra-low quiescent current 40V–100V DC‑DC converters, LDOs, and multifunction power management ICs within the Rad Hard IC design team.
Experience Level
Senior - Principal level. Typical experience: MSEE with 10+ years, PhD with 8+ years, or BSEE with 15+ years in relevant industry analog/power-management IC design.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Participate in product definition with marketing, applications, and customers.
- Transistor‑level design of mixed‑signal circuits for new and derivative power‑management products.
- Apply in‑depth knowledge of power process technologies to design innovative power products.
- Validate and debug designs and prepare them for transfer to production engineering.
- Manage program schedules to meet delivery objectives.
- Interface with process, test, product, application, and marketing teams throughout development.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Deep experience in integrated analog circuit design.
- Strong knowledge of bipolar, BiCMOS, and BCD process technologies and circuit techniques.
- Experience with large power transistor (bipolar and DMOS) design, layout, and robustness.
- Experience with switch‑mode power topologies (BOOST & BUCK), multi‑phase current sharing, and control methods.
- Proficiency with Cadence tools for analog design and mixed‑signal simulation.
- Experience with behavioral/top‑level modeling and mixed‑signal verification methodology.
- Experience with analog/digital interfaces and digital buses.
- Understanding of gate‑driver techniques and control systems.
- Self‑motivated and adaptable; able to drive projects from concept to production.
- Nice-to-have: experience with radiation‑hardened power‑management products.
Education Requirements
MSEE with 10+ years, PhD with 8+ years, or BSEE with 15+ years of relevant industry experience in analog and power‑management IC design.
