Principal Digital RTL Design Engineer (Power Management ICs)
Role Summary
Join the digital power-management IC team to lead RTL design, verification, debug, and automation for advanced power-management chips. The role combines hands-on design and verification with technical leadership and ownership of assigned design blocks.
Experience Level
Senior - 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
Responsibilities
The role requires ownership of digital design and verification activities across pre- and post-silicon phases and mentoring of junior engineers.
- Develop, debug, and verify digital RTL in pre- and post-silicon environments.
- Write tests to verify design intent against specifications.
- Develop and improve scripts to automate design flows.
- Manage assigned design blocks: requirements, architecture, and implementation.
- Research and present tools to improve design processes.
- Act as functional digital design lead on projects and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for immediate contribution.
- 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Proficient in Verilog and producing CDC/RDC/LINT-clean designs.
- Experience debugging mixed-signal designs using SystemVerilog testbenches.
- Exposure to gate-level simulation and debug.
- Experience designing standard serial interfaces (I2C, I3C, SPI, I2S, etc.).
- Strong analytical skills and systematic debug methodology.
- Experience with Cadence or Synopsys digital design tool flows.
- Proven hands-on technical leadership and project delivery.
Nice-to-have:
- Proficient in scripting languages such as Python or Perl.
- Knowledge of ARM Cortex-M series processors and computer architecture.
- Exposure to mixed-signal designs and basic analog circuit understanding.
- Experience with digital backend flows (synthesis, STA, place & route).
- Full design-flow experience from specification to backend implementation.
- Experience with PMBus/SMBus, AVSBus, SVID, or SVI3 protocols.
Education Requirements
BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (EE/ECE) is specified. The role requires 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
