Principal Digital Design Engineer
Role Summary
Join the Precision Signal Chain Group (PSC) as a Principal (Lead) Digital Design Engineer responsible for architecture and delivery of complex digital and mixed-signal SoC products. The role covers concept through design, verification, implementation and release, and involves cross-disciplinary collaboration with analog, software, test and product teams.
Locations include Valencia (Spain), Limerick (Ireland), Edinburgh (UK) and Newbury (UK); role is full-time, onsite at listed locations.
Experience Level
Senior β requires approximately 12+ years of relevant digital design engineering experience.
Responsibilities
Deliver technical leadership and hands-on execution across the digital design lifecycle.
- Define technical strategy and lead architecture for complex digital/SoC designs.
- Act as technical authority and lead architecture reviews and decisions.
- Engage with customers and industry partners on strategic products.
- Design and implement RTL (SystemVerilog), define synthesis/timing constraints, and perform static timing analysis.
- Run Formal and CDC analysis and guide DFT and physical design efforts.
- Analyze power consumption and power integrity for digital designs.
- Produce design documentation and present design reviews.
- Participate in project and cross-team collaboration meetings; mentor and develop technical staff.

Must have: 12+ years of experience in digital design engineering with SoC/ASIC product development and productization.
- Proven authority in complex SoC architecture design and implementation; strong processor/DSP fundamentals.
- Hands-on RTL experience (SystemVerilog) and familiarity with Formal and CDC methodologies.
- Experience defining synthesis/timing constraints, performing STA, and guiding physical design and DFT.
- Mastery of processor architectures and bus fabric protocols (AHB, APB, AXI).
- Broad experience with digital interfaces (SPI, I2C, SPMI, I3C, UART, etc.).
- Multi-domain collaboration experience working with analog, software, test and product teams.
- Strong interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel ~10% for customer and partner engagements.

Nice to have: Deep experience with end-to-end ASIC/SoC productization; domain knowledge aligned to precision converters and mixed-signal products.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a closely related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
