Job Title

Principal Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Join the CPU verification team to develop and execute functional verification for CPU cores and related subsystems, focusing on core functionality, cache, and coherency. Work with architects and designers to ensure correctness and performance of processor components.

Experience Level

Senior β€” 8+ years of design verification experience (CPU or SoC preferred).

Responsibilities

Lead verification activities for CPU cores and subsystems using coverage-driven methodologies and automated flows.

  • Develop verification strategies from microarchitectural specifications.
  • Create testbenches and write directed and constrained-random tests in SystemVerilog, C, and Assembly.
  • Use UVM-based environments and analyze coverage reports to close coverage gaps.
  • Automate regressions and verification flows with Python, Perl, or Shell scripting.
  • Collaborate with architects and senior engineers to debug issues and improve design quality.
  • Verify coherency and cache controller functionality and performance.
  • Follow environmental, health, safety, and security policies in all activities.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • 8+ years of experience in design verification, preferably focused on CPU or SoC verification.
  • Hands-on experience with SystemVerilog and UVM for constrained-random verification.
  • Familiarity with CPU architectures such as RISC-V, ARM, or MIPS.
  • Basic understanding of cache and coherency concepts.
  • Strong scripting skills in Python, Perl, or Shell to automate flows and regressions.
  • Ability to interpret microarchitectural specifications and devise verification plans.

Nice-to-have:

  • Exposure to RISC-V architecture.
  • Knowledge of interconnect protocols such as AXI, ACE, or CHI.
  • Experience with FPGA prototyping or emulation platforms.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Computer Engineering is required per the posting.
