Principal Design Engineer
Role Summary
Architect and implement DDR controller features and RTL in a configurable IP development environment. Work in a small cross-functional engineering team collaborating with verification, PHY, delivery, support, and applications engineers to deliver SoC IP.
Position is site-based in Ireland with approximately 10% travel.
Experience Level
Senior - 10+ years of experience in the microelectronics/EDA industry.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include architecture, RTL design, and cross-team delivery of high-speed, low-power controller IP.
- Architect solutions for DDR controller features to meet customer requirements.
- Design Verilog RTL within a highly configurable and automated flow.
- Develop high-speed circuits and low-power features for controller IP.
- Utilize Cadence design automation and IP development tools and flows.
- Work closely with design verification, PHY, delivery, support, and application engineering teams.
- Improve quality and team productivity through automation and process refinement.
- Participate in small project teams and provide technical leadership.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; preferences listed separately.
- 10+ years' experience in microelectronics/EDA industry.
- Proven Verilog RTL design experience.
- Experience with Metric Driven Verification (MDV).
- Familiarity with front-end design tools: LINT, synthesis, and CDC analysis.
- Experience in SoC architecture and IP development.
- Technical team leadership experience.
- Excellent oral and written English; strong planning and communication skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Microelectronics, or a related discipline (degree explicitly specified in the posting). No certifications were specified.
