Principal Design Engineer

Role Summary

The Principal Design Engineer will lead front-end design activities within customer projects, acting as a key planner and contributor to ASIC and IP development projects. The role involves collaboration with customers, IP vendors, and architects to create innovative design solutions that meet high-quality standards.

Senior-level position typically requiring 10+ years of experience in digital design.

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities include:

• Leading and managing a successful engineering team.
• Providing technical support and training to team members.
• Staying current with industry advancements and ensuring the team utilizes state-of-the-art technology.
• Collaborating with management to define new methodologies.
• Identifying risks and opportunities and updating project plans accordingly.
• Defining design intent and documenting new methodologies.
• Administering development activities and tracking milestones.
• Providing regular updates to customers and program management.
• Owning design blocks and leading all frontend aspects through to productization.
• Representing Aion Silicon at conferences and meetings.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• A degree/masters or PhD in a relevant or non-relevant field.
• Typically, 10+ years of experience in digital design with a focus on complex SoCs.
• Strong knowledge of CPU design, interconnect design, and high-speed data interfaces.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to manage technical projects and contribute to various technical documents.
• Experience with issue tracking tools (e.g. Jira).

Education Requirements

A degree/masters or PhD in a relevant or non-relevant subject is required.
