Principal Datacenter RAS Architect

Role Summary

Join the Datacenter System Architecture and Engineering team to define and deliver server system RAS (Reliability, Availability, Serviceability) solutions for AMD EPYC-based products. The role combines technical analysis, customer engagement, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and solution delivery across silicon, platform hardware/software, and system usage.

Experience Level

Senior-level (Principal). Exact years of experience not specified; position expects extensive, multi-generation product experience in server RAS and system architecture.

Responsibilities

Deliver end-to-end server RAS solutions and drive technical alignment with customers and internal stakeholders.

  • Architect and deploy inband and out-of-band server RAS solutions across processors, accelerators, network components, and platform subsystems.
  • Lead feature development from concept through productization for AMD server products.
  • Collaborate with customers, processor/IP/SOC architects, device vendors, firmware and system software teams, and business units to optimize RAS solutions.
  • Research and develop next-generation system designs to improve reliability, availability, and serviceability of data center solutions.
  • Prepare and present cohesive technical reports; publish technical findings and influence future product architecture.
  • Support product bring-up, validation, and release activities for server platforms.

  • Proven RAS expertise demonstrated across multiple product generations (required).
  • Deep understanding of server RAS for industry-standard buses and high-speed I/O (DDR, PCIe, other protocols) (required).
  • Experience with server architecture areas such as memory, I/O, power delivery/management, firmware, BMC/hardware management, boot process, bring-up, and validation (preferred).
  • Track record of working with leading technology partners to co-engineer systems based on new SoCs/CPUs/chipsets.
  • Ability to influence technical direction, communicate clearly with engineering and leadership counterparts, and drive alignment on solutions.
  • Ability to work effectively across engineering disciplines and distributed geographies.
  • Eligible to work in the United States; this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Education Requirements

Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with extensive experience.
