Principal Datacenter GPU Performance Architect

Role Summary

Lead software engineer focused on GPU and system-level performance for datacenter AI, HPC, and agentic workloads. Work with architecture teams and hardware bring-up efforts to identify, diagnose, and eliminate platform- and rack-level performance bottlenecks.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include performance optimization, debugging, and cross-team technical leadership.

  • Identify and resolve GPU and system-level performance bottlenecks across platform and rack levels.
  • Apply data-driven methods to target and measure optimization efforts for AI models and agentic workloads.
  • Debug multi-node communication and distributed system performance issues.
  • Support ASIC and hardware bring-up and validate hardware/software interactions.
  • Design and implement performance-focused software, tooling, and proofs of concept.
  • Collaborate with architecture specialists, peers, and partners to influence product direction.
  • Research and propose more efficient approaches to existing implementations.

  • Extensive experience with low-level GPU performance optimization.
  • Proven experience debugging complex system-level software bottlenecks.
  • Experience troubleshooting multi-node communication and performance problems.
  • Strong object-oriented programming skills; C/C++ preferred.
  • Experience with concurrent programming and threading APIs.
  • Familiarity with development tools such as debuggers, profilers, and source control (e.g., GitHub).
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills; able to work across teams and functions.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
