Principal Applications Engineer - Silicon Solutions
Role Summary
Lead technical customer engagements for Memory Interface and Interface IP, focusing on integration, silicon bring-up, and deployment. Work with customers and internal engineering teams to diagnose issues, accelerate adoption, and improve product readiness.

Senior-level. Typical background: 10+ years of industry experience with Memory Interface or Interface IP and customer-facing applications engineering.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include technical leadership across customer projects, post-silicon debug, and cross-functional enablement.
- Lead complex customer engagements for integration, bring-up, and deployment of Memory Interface PHY IP (HBM, DDR, LPDDR) and Controller IP solutions.
- Drive technical resolution of integration and silicon bring-up issues, including lab debug and post-silicon problem solving.
- Act as technical liaison between customers and internal product/engineering teams to align requirements and accelerate fixes.
- Deliver technical presentations, training, and enablement materials to customers and partners.
- Create and improve documentation and collateral to increase product usability and deployment readiness.
- Provide field-driven feedback to product and engineering teams to influence product improvements.
- Support global customer engagements; occasional travel (approximately 15β20%).
Requirements
Key qualifications and skills needed to succeed in this role.
- Must-have: 10+ years of industry experience with Memory Interface IP (DDR, LPDDR, HBM) or other Interface IP (PCIe, Ethernet, UCIe) and proven customer-facing applications engineering or technical support experience.
- Must-have: Hands-on experience with silicon bring-up, lab debug, and post-silicon technical problem-solving.
- Must-have: Strong understanding of Controller IP, AMBA/AXI interfaces, backend engineering, and ASIC design flows.
- Must-have: Proficiency with Linux and hardware description languages (Verilog and/or VHDL) and relevant ASIC development environments.
- Must-have: Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to work effectively across customer and internal teams.
- Nice-to-have: Familiarity with evolving protocols (DDR5, LPDDR6, MRDIMM2, HBM4) and additional interface standards.
- Nice-to-have: Experience influencing product direction and creating scalable enablement material.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required (~15β20%).
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field; VLSI focus preferred.
