Principal Application Engineer — Pre-Sales, Silicon IP
Role Summary
Provide technical presales support for silicon IP to customers in the AP region. Work with customer architects, sales, IP business units, and R&D to evaluate IP performance, enable integration, and drive customer adoption.
The role focuses on enabling successful SoC integration of Cadence IP through evaluations, demonstrations, documentation, and direct customer engagement.
Experience Level
Senior — 10+ years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include supporting customers during evaluations, coordinating with internal teams, and creating technical deliverables.
- Provide direct technical support to customers during the presales stage to promote adoption of Cadence IP.
- Interface with customer architects and IP business units to evaluate IP performance against customer SoC requirements.
- Work with sales to coordinate regional IP activities and maintain high customer satisfaction.
- Gather and communicate customer feedback and requirements to R&D and product teams.
- Assist customers with IP integration, debugging, and usage issues.
- Author application notes and review protocol specification documents.
- Deliver technical meetings, presentations, seminars, and training to customers and internal teams.
- Travel within the AP region as required.
Requirements
Key technical and professional requirements.
- Hands-on experience in SoC design and strong understanding of SoC architecture.
- Experience developing, testing, or debugging DDR, PCIe, Ethernet, or USB subsystems (hardware or firmware).
- Solid understanding of DDR, PCIe, Ethernet, or USB protocols.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated problem-solving ability.
- Ability to present complex technical content and train customers and sales engineers.
- Familiarity with the semiconductor IP marketplace and ecosystem is a plus.
Education Requirements
Master's degree (M.S.) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a similar technical field is specified in the posting.
