Principal Application Engineer - EDA Verification
Role Summary
Provide advanced technical support for verification workflows to customers in Sweden and the Nordic region. Troubleshoot complex verification issues in customer environments, mentor junior engineers, and relay actionable field feedback to R&D to improve product reliability and usability.
The role emphasizes on-site and remote customer engagement to remove verification bottlenecks and enable successful tapeouts for complex ASIC designs.
Experience Level
Senior - 8+ years of hands-on experience in semiconductor design, ASIC development, or EDA applications engineering.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include customer-facing troubleshooting, mentorship, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Serve as the primary technical resource for key customers across Sweden and the Nordic region, supporting verification workflows.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in customer design environments, on-site and remotely.
- Collaborate with R&D to escalate critical customer issues and influence product roadmap with field feedback.
- Mentor and develop junior applications engineers, building their technical depth and customer engagement skills.
- Deliver technical presentations, training sessions, and best-practice guidance on verification methodologies and tool usage.
- Act as a regional technical leader representing customer needs and driving practical solutions.
Requirements
Must-have skills and expectations.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in semiconductor design, ASIC development, or EDA applications engineering.
- Strong foundation in digital design verification concepts, methodologies, and flows.
- Proven ability to work directly with customer engineering teams and diagnose technical issues in complex environments.
- Based in or near Stockholm, Sweden, with regular travel within the Nordic region and occasional international travel.
- Solid English communication skills, written and verbal.
- Demonstrated mentorship skills and the ability to push for customer-focused technical solutions.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with Synopsys verification tools such as VCS, Verdi, or VC Formal.
- Familiarity with applying AI-assisted techniques to verification workflows.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related semiconductor/electronics discipline.
