Principal Application Engineer

Role Summary

Provide technical leadership to engage customers, qualify opportunities, run technical evaluations, and drive deployment of Cadence circuit simulation and mixed‑signal methodologies.

Work closely with customers, sales, R&D, and product engineering to resolve design/simulation issues and deliver production‑ready solutions.

Experience Level

Senior-level — 8 to 10 years of relevant experience (as specified).

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include customer engagement, technical evaluation, troubleshooting, and internal collaboration.

• Engage customers and prospects to identify and qualify opportunities for circuit simulation and mixed‑signal methodology.
• Define evaluation criteria, run technical evaluations, and demonstrate Cadence solutions to customers.
• Drive conversion from evaluation to deployment of efficient simulation and mixed‑signal design flows.
• Troubleshoot customer design and simulation issues that impact production schedules and provide pragmatic solutions.
• Collaborate with R&D and product engineering to request and prioritize feature implementations and bug fixes.
• Communicate effectively with customers and internal stakeholders and provide technical leadership on engagements.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and professional experience.

• Strong understanding of IC design processes and analog/mixed‑signal design methodology.
• Hands‑on experience with analog front‑end flow including design entry, real‑number modeling, pre‑ and post‑layout simulation, mixed‑signal simulation, and EMIR analysis.
• Proficiency with tools such as Virtuoso Schematic, Virtuoso ADE, Spectre, and AMS Designer.
• Proven ability to interact directly with customers to resolve technical issues and run evaluations.
• Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work cross‑functionally with R&D and product teams.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; ability to manage customer projects to completion.

Education Requirements

B.Tech (or equivalent) in engineering or a related technical field is specified; the posting allows equivalent practical experience. The role expects approximately 8–10 years of relevant experience.
