Principal Analog Validation Engineer
Role Summary
The Principal Analog Validation Engineer designs and executes comprehensive parametric validation for analog circuitry across platforms. The role focuses on creating automated measurement systems, defining and verifying KPIs against electrical specifications, and producing concise validation reports.
Works within validation/test engineering and collaborates with design, product, software and test teams at the Austin Oakhill site.
Experience Level
Senior-level β minimum 12 years of industry experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Build parametric validation plans from electrical specifications and define required KPIs.
- Develop software and scripts to configure the device under test (DUT) for required cases.
- Create hardware automation sequences to perform measurements across process, voltage, temperature and DUT configurations.
- Prepare instrumentation, test boards and automation scripts prior to silicon arrival.
- Analyze parametric data, report pass/fail/margin against specs, and generate concise summary reports.
- Collaborate with Design, Product, Test Engineering, Applications, Software and Product Analysis teams to debug IP, silicon and signal-integrity issues.
- Specify hardware requirements and participate in schematic and layout reviews.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred technical qualifications.

Must-have: Minimum 12 years industry experience; strong C programming skills; experience with high-speed/RF lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, BER testers, vector network analyzers and phase-noise analyzers; data analysis using Excel, JMP or PowerBI; hardware setup debugging and schematic reading; ability to debug silicon and signal-integrity issues.

Preferred / Nice-to-have: TestStand and Python scripting; familiarity with SerDes validation and Ethernet (IEEE 802.3) and PCIe protocols; experience with automated test systems; AI prompting for software generation.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
