Principal Analog/Mixed Signal Engineer
RaydarJob Title
Principal Analog/Mixed Signal Engineer
Role Summary
Lead custom analog/mixed-signal circuit design and own significant portions of chip architecture for upcoming silicon. The role combines hands-on schematic design, layout and verification with bench evaluation of returned silicon, working closely with circuits, systems, physics and software teams.
Experience Level
Senior - around 6+ years of relevant analog/mixed-signal IC experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Design mixed analog/digital circuits such as data converters, clock/timing generators, power regulation, reference sources and high-speed serial interfaces.
- Own substantial portions of chip architecture; potentially serve as device lead on planned products.
- Create physical layouts and perform DRC/LVS/ERC, parasitic extraction and layout verification.
- Collaborate with circuit, systems, physics and software teams to move concepts to silicon.
- Characterize returned silicon on the bench using common test and measurement instruments.
Requirements
Must-have:
- Proven track record designing circuits that combine analog and digital functions (e.g., clock synthesizers, serial links, converters, oscillators).
- Strong command of analog and mixed-signal design in CMOS technology.
- Several chips taken through fabrication, ideally in FinFET or 28nm/65nm processes.
- Fluency with Cadence simulation flows, including parasitic extraction, Monte Carlo and process corner analysis.
- Approximately 6 or more years of relevant industry experience.
- Willingness to work broadly in a startup environment and assist beyond core responsibilities when needed.
- Based in the Boston area or willing to relocate.
Nice-to-have:
- Practical experience drawing layouts personally (not just reviewing).
Education Requirements
Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering with a circuits or integrated circuit design emphasis.
