Job Title

Principal Analog/Mixed-Signal Engineer

Role Summary

Design, simulate, validate, and bring to tape-out analog and mixed-signal blocks for modern CMOS processes. The role works within the hardware engineering team to develop high-performance analog IP—comparators, op-amps, references, regulators, oscillators/PLLs, and data converters—and to verify them through simulation and lab characterization.

Experience Level

Senior — requires 5+ years of relevant Analog/Mixed-Signal engineering experience.

Responsibilities

Primary hands-on responsibilities for this role include:

  • Architect, design, and optimize analog building blocks (comparators, op-amps, references/biases, LDOs, filters, switch-cap topologies, ADC/DACs).
  • Design and layout high-speed analog circuits including oscillators, frequency dividers, and PLLs with attention to performance and robustness.
  • Perform detailed pre- and post-layout simulations (PEX, Monte‑Carlo, corner analysis) to meet specifications.
  • Prepare and execute lab validation and characterization using signal generators, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and similar equipment.
  • Support project tape-out verification (DRC, ERC, LVS) and resolve layout-related issues affecting reliability and performance.
  • Implement techniques for noise reduction, linearity, stability, low-power operation, and reliability (including mitigation of electro-migration and layout effects).
  • Collaborate with system and verification teams for pre-silicon validation and top-level mixed-signal simulations.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • 5+ years of relevant analog/mixed-signal design experience.
  • Proven experience designing analog blocks and data converters (comparators, op-amps, references/bias, LDOs, filters, switch-cap circuits).
  • Experience in design and layout of high-speed analog circuits (frequency dividers, oscillators, PLLs).
  • In-depth knowledge of noise, linearity, stability, low-power and low-noise design techniques.
  • Understanding of reliability and layout effects (electro-migration and mitigation strategies).
  • Hands-on lab testing experience with signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
  • Comprehensive Cadence simulation skills including PEX, Monte‑Carlo, and corner analysis.
  • Experience supporting tape-out verification (DRC, ERC, LVS) and pre-silicon validation workflows.
  • Experience designing in modern CMOS processes.

Nice-to-have:

  • Strong programming skills in Python and C.
  • Experience with I/O design considerations (ESD protection and latch-up mitigation).

Education Requirements

Not specified.
