Job Title

Principal Analog & Mixed-Signal Design Engineer - Power/ATE

Role Summary

Senior analog/mixed-signal IC design role on the Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) team. The engineer will design, simulate, characterize and release high-performance power-delivery and measurement ICs used in production testing of advanced semiconductors.

Work is within a cross-functional design organization; primary locations are Colorado Springs, CO or Wilmington, MA. The role requires hands-on lab evaluation and collaboration with product, layout, test, and CAD/EDA teams.

Experience Level

Senior - typically 10+ years of relevant analog/mixed-signal IC design experience.

Responsibilities

Accountabilities for this position include architecture through production release of complex mixed-signal ICs and subsystem integration.

  • Lead medium- to high-complexity IC projects from architecture selection through implementation and debugging.
  • Perform mixed-mode top-level and block design, transistor-level circuit design and simulation.
  • Integrate blocks into larger mixed-signal systems and ensure successful system-level behavior.
  • Collaborate with product definition, applications, layout, test engineering, project management, and CAD/EDA teams.
  • Support layout, application, and test teams to meet product requirements and manufacturability targets.
  • Perform hands-on evaluation and characterization of ICs in the lab; debug silicon issues.
  • Manage and coordinate analog and digital design teams as required by project scope.
  • Travel approximately 10% to support product definition and customer activities.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • 10+ years of experience as an analog circuit designer with demonstrated leadership on large mixed-signal IC projects.
  • Strong fundamentals in analog and mixed-signal design, including appropriate tools and verification flows.
  • Design experience with amplifiers, DACs, ADCs, bandgaps, bias circuits, LDOs, and switching power-supply circuits.
  • Good understanding of power-supply control architectures and mixed-signal integration challenges.
  • Knowledge of BCD process technologies and familiarity with digital IC design concepts.
  • Understanding of reliability and physical failure mechanisms (e.g., latch-up, HCI degradation).
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills; ability to take ownership of top-level subsystems.
  • Willingness to travel (~10%).
  • Note: non-U.S. applicants may require export-licensing review for access to certain technical data.

Education Requirements

M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (degrees listed in source). No alternative-equivalent degree language specified.
