Job Title

Principal Analog/Mixed-Signal Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design and validate high-speed analog and mixed-signal circuits for optical and electrical receiver and transmitter front ends. Work within the Broadband Analog group on FinFET CMOS and SiGe BiCMOS physical-layer ICs targeted at data center and telecom applications.

Experience Level

Senior - typically expects 7+ years with an advanced degree or 10+ years with a bachelor's-level degree in a relevant engineering discipline.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design, verification, and transition-to-production activities for broadband analog and mixed-signal ICs.

  • Architect, design and simulate high-performance analog/mixed-signal circuits (receiver/transmitter front ends) in CMOS and BiCMOS.
  • Design CTLEs, TIAs, drivers, ADCs/DACs, PLLs, filters, bandgap and regulator circuits, AGC loops and other analog blocks.
  • Perform analog custom layout and collaborate with layout engineers to meet electrical and manufacturability targets.
  • Support post-silicon validation, lab evaluation, debug and correlation of measurements to simulations.
  • Work with system, package and process teams to resolve integration issues and support qualification and mass-production transitions.
  • Document designs, present results to stakeholders, and provide customer support as needed.

Requirements

Core technical skills and professional competencies required.

  • Proven hands-on experience designing analog and mixed-signal circuits including CTLEs, TIAs, ADCs, DACs, PLLs, filters, bandgap bias circuits and regulators in FinFET CMOS or SiGe BiCMOS technologies.
  • Track record of high-performance receiver design including chip tapeout and lab evaluation with measured results.
  • Proficiency with EDA CAD tools and analog custom layout practices.
  • Experience measuring IC performance and debugging to correlate simulations and silicon measurements.
  • Strong transistor-level design skills, device physics knowledge, and control/feedback loop stability analysis.
  • Familiarity with package-system integration issues is desirable.
  • Effective teamwork, clear written and oral communication, and good technical documentation skills.
  • Must be eligible to access export-controlled technology; candidates may be subject to export license review.

Education Requirements

BSc in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of industry experience, or MSc/PhD in Electrical Engineering with 7+ years of industry experience. The posting specifies electrical engineering as the field; no certifications were required. Equivalent practical experience is not explicitly stated.
