Principal Analog Design Lead - MCU
Role Summary
Lead definition and delivery of analog IP and SoC analog architecture for microcontroller (MCU) products. Responsible for driving circuit architectures, ensuring high-quality, production-ready analog/mixed-signal IP, and managing an analog design team on assigned projects.
Experience Level
Senior - requires extensive industry experience; role specifies 10+ years of product development experience in IC design.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include architecture, design leadership, verification, and project management across analog/mixed-signal IP for MCUs.
- Define SoC analog architecture and derive IP-level specifications from system requirements.
- Drive circuit-architecture decisions and implement robust analog/mixed-signal designs (ADC, DAC, PLL, oscillators, references, LDOs, DC-DC, amplifiers, filters, etc.).
- Own implementation, simulation (behavioral and transistor-level), layout, and silicon validation of analog IP.
- Lead and manage the analog design team assigned to the project; mentor junior engineers.
- Collaborate with SoC teams and other project leaders to ensure quality integration and industrialization.
- Produce technical documentation for design reviews, integration, industrialization, and reliability.
- Provide post-tape-out support: characterization, production test, life testing, and debug.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, experience, and behaviors for successful performance in this role.
- 10+ years of product development experience in an IC-design company.
- Significant hands-on experience with one or more analog/mixed-signal IP areas listed above.
- Proven ability to verify performance using behavioral and transistor-level simulation and to correlate simulations with silicon results.
- Experience driving designs to production quality, industrialization, and reliability targets.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills; experience mentoring junior engineers.
- Experience with behavioral modeling tools (AMS, DMS, MATLAB, SystemC) is a plus.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
