Principal Analog Design Engineer – PMIC Production Support
NXP SemiconductorsJob Title
Principal Analog Design Engineer – PMIC Production Support
Role Summary
Responsible for sustaining engineering and production support of Power Management IC (PMIC) products based on SmartMOS / BCD technologies. The role drives root-cause analysis, failure analysis, production test and manufacturing improvements, and supports fab transfers and product ramp-up.
Works closely with application, digital, AMS, product/test, quality and manufacturing teams to improve quality, cost and yield for products in production.
Experience Level
Senior level. Minimum 5 years' experience in Analog / Mixed-Signal IC design, with PMIC exposure preferred.
Responsibilities
Main responsibilities include sustaining engineering, customer return investigations, and production support:
- Support analog design activities for products in production to ensure robustness and performance.
- Lead customer return (RMA) investigations and define corrective actions.
- Drive failure analysis with FA labs and define investigation strategies.
- Propose and implement production test improvements and manufacturing optimizations.
- Support fab transfers, product qualification, and ramp-up activities.
- Identify cost-reduction opportunities across design, test and process.
- Perform schematic reviews and simulations (nominal, PVT, Monte Carlo) using Cadence tools.
- Analyze IC layout as needed to support investigations.
- Generate design reports, support 8D methodology, and document lessons learned.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Minimum 5 years in Analog / Mixed-Signal IC design and production support.
- Experience with PMICs and SmartPower / BCD technologies.
- Proven experience in silicon debug, root cause analysis and yield improvement.
- Proficiency in Cadence design environment: schematic entry and simulation including PVT and Monte Carlo.
- Ability to read and interpret IC layout.
- Experience collaborating with manufacturing, test and reliability teams.
- Familiarity with structured problem‑solving methods (8D) and failure analysis workflows.
- Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills; ability to work in cross‑functional international teams.
