Job Title

Principal Analog Design Engineer - HBM

Role Summary

Lead the analog/mixed-signal design and verification of analog IP and circuits used in High-Bandwidth Memory (HBM) products. Work on circuit architecture, detailed design, simulation, silicon bring-up, and cross-functional integration with digital, validation, and layout teams.

Experience Level

Senior (Principal). This role is for an experienced analog engineer with significant hands-on design and leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include technical leadership of analog design tasks and coordination across development phases.

  • Define analog circuit architecture and implement detailed transistor-level designs for HBM-related IP.
  • Perform circuit simulation, corner analysis, and timing/power/area trade-offs.
  • Lead silicon bring-up, characterization, and debugging of analog blocks.
  • Collaborate with digital design, layout, validation, and system teams to ensure design integration.
  • Mentor and review work of other engineers; provide technical direction and design reviews.
  • Develop verification plans and support test-chip planning and measurement campaigns.

Requirements

Core technical and leadership requirements. Education specifics are in the Education Requirements section below.

  • Extensive experience in analog and mixed-signal IC design and transistor-level circuit implementation.
  • Proven track record with analog blocks used in high-speed memory interfaces (HBM or similar) or high-performance I/O.
  • Strong skills with circuit simulation and analysis tools and methodologies.
  • Experience with silicon bring-up, lab measurements, and debug of analog circuits.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and conduct technical design reviews.
  • Proficiency in scripting for automation and data analysis (e.g., Python, MATLAB) is preferred.
  • Nice-to-have: familiarity with memory interface protocols, PLLs/clocking, SerDes, and physical layout considerations.
