Job Title

Principal Analog Design Engineer

Role Summary

The Principal Analog Design Engineer will lead architecture and transistor-level design of high-performance mixed-signal ICs for next-generation optical controller products within the CAC group. Primary focus areas include PMIC (DC-DC) or data converter (ADC/DAC) designs and driving designs from specification through silicon verification and delivery.

The role requires close collaboration with layout, lab evaluation, test, qualification, and product engineering teams to meet electrical, quality, and schedule targets.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Job listed as Experienced. Specific years of experience not specified.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Define architecture and system-level trade-offs for high-performance mixed-signal ICs.
  • Own block-level and transistor-level circuit implementation, including comprehensive simulation and verification across the design cycle.
  • Develop product objective specifications (die size, package, pinout, block diagrams, electrical specifications).
  • Support layout, lab evaluation, testing, qualification, and product engineering to ensure successful delivery that meets requirements and quality goals.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred qualifications:

  • Must-have: Design experience with switching power supply circuits (DC-DC) or precision ADC/DAC; proven experience in analog/mixed-signal IC development.
  • Must-have: Strong communication and problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment; willingness to travel up to 10%.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience integrating analog blocks (converters, power management, etc.) in complex microcontroller systems.
  • Nice-to-have: Deep understanding of semiconductor device structure and fabrication processes.

Education Requirements

MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering with experience in analog/mixed-signal IC development.
