Job Title
Principal Analog Design Engineer
Role Summary
Join the Advanced Power Systems team to architect and lead development of mixed-signal PMICs for automotive and industrial applications. Drive analog and system-level design from architecture through verification, validation, and production.
Experience Level
Senior β minimum 10 years developing mixed-signal ICs; typically more than 5 years as an architect or technical leader.
Responsibilities
Lead technical execution of PMIC projects and coordinate cross-functional teams.
- Define IC architecture and partition into subsystem and interface specifications.
- Lead analog and mixed-signal circuit design for DC-DC converters and PMIC subsystems.
- Design and validate error amplifiers, references, compensation, current sensing, protection, gate drivers, startup, and power sequencing.
- Ensure compliance with automotive and industrial requirements for efficiency, robustness, functional safety, thermal performance, and reliability.
- Collaborate with digital, system, validation, test, and applications teams to deliver scalable solutions.
- Align product targets with customers and product management; support quality and validation teams during development.
- Mentor team members and improve PMIC development methodologies and processes.
Requirements
Essential technical skills and experience; items marked "nice-to-have" are preferred but not mandatory.
- Minimum 10 years experience in mixed-signal IC development; experience as an architect or technical leader (preferably >5 years).
- Deep knowledge of analog system and transistor-level circuit design.
- Expertise in DC-DC converter architectures and power-management design.
- Practical experience with Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, AMS toolflow.
- Familiarity with automotive and industrial product requirements, including reliability and thermal considerations.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills and proven ability to work in cross-functional teams.
- Creative problem solving and ability to make system-level tradeoffs.
- Nice-to-have: hands-on experience with current sensing, protection circuits, gate drivers, startup circuits, and power sequencing.
Education Requirements
Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) required.
