Job Title
Principal Analog and Mixed-Signal IC Design Engineer
Role Summary
Member of the Central Engineering analog team responsible for architecture, implementation and verification of mixed-signal CMOS transceiver / SERDES products. Work spans circuit design, layout supervision, lab characterization, and cross-functional integration with digital and SoC teams.
Experience Level
Senior. Typical experience guidelines in this posting: approximately 10–15 years of relevant professional experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 5–10 years with a Master's or PhD.
Responsibilities
The role covers end-to-end analog and mixed-signal IC work from architecture through silicon bring-up and documentation.
- Architect and implement mixed-signal building blocks (PLL, DLL, ADC, DAC, TX, RX, CDRs, amplifiers, bandgaps, regulators, filters).
- Perform circuit design and verification using SPICE/Spectre, MATLAB and related tools.
- Execute or supervise layout activities in nanometer technologies and coordinate physical design sign-off.
- Plan and perform lab characterization, prototype debugging and validation with test engineers.
- Produce design documentation, application specifications and support field applications or customers as needed.
- Collaborate with digital and SoC teams to enable integration and cross-functional verification.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- Strong knowledge of deep sub-micron CMOS technologies and mixed-signal design methods.
- Hands-on experience designing mixed-signal circuits (ADCs, DACs, RX/TX, PLLs, regulators, filters, bandgap/bias circuits).
- Experience with low-power and high-speed design techniques.
- Proficiency with IC design and simulation tools such as Spectre, SPICE, MATLAB, HSim and hardware description languages (e.g., Verilog) for verification.
- Practical lab testing skills for prototype evaluation, characterization and debug.
- Experience supervising physical design/layout and validating designs in nanometric processes.
- Ability to interface effectively with cross-functional teams and support FAEs/customers.
- Must be eligible to access export-controlled technology or able to complete required export license reviews where applicable.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field (posted guideline: 10–15 years of related experience). Alternatively, Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields with approximately 5–10 years of experience. The posting presents degree-plus-experience combinations rather than an explicit "or equivalent" clause.
