Principal Advanced CMOS Device & Process Integration Engineer
Role Summary
Provide technical leadership for advanced CMOS device architecture and process integration to enable Micron’s advanced memory platforms. Lead cross-functional initiatives across process engineering, circuit design, layout, reliability, manufacturing, modeling/TCAD, and external partners to define roadmaps, close technology gaps, and drive qualification and high-volume manufacturing readiness.
Leverage AI-assisted analytics and automation to accelerate development and decision-making while retaining final engineering accountability.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include technical strategy, cross-functional leadership, and delivery of complex device and integration solutions:
- Define technical strategy and long-term roadmap for advanced CMOS devices and process integration.
- Establish device architecture and targets for performance, power, area, reliability, yield, and cost.
- Lead resolution of complex transistor performance, variability, reliability, yield, and process integration challenges.
- Drive major technical decisions on device architecture, process complexity, design rules, manufacturability, and cost.
- Develop silicon learning strategies, experimental plans, electrical test structure strategy, and model validation approaches.
- Establish correlation strategies across silicon measurements, physical analysis, TCAD, compact models, circuit simulation, yield, and product performance.
- Provide technical leadership for DTCO/STCO and influence circuit architecture, layout methodology, and PDKs.
- Lead technical risk assessments and provide recommendations for technology selection, qualification, transfer, and HVM readiness.
- Mentor senior engineers, establish engineering best practices, and represent the organization in technical reviews and external forums.
- Define and scale AI-assisted engineering strategies and validation methods to ensure AI outputs are accurate, reproducible, explainable, and secure.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience, plus preferred capabilities:
- Extensive industry experience in advanced CMOS device technology, process integration, transistor development, or related semiconductor technology.
- Expert-level understanding of CMOS transistor physics, process integration, electrical characterization, variability, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Proven success leading complex technology development or pathfinding programs and influencing technical direction across organizations.
- Ability to solve highly ambiguous, multidisciplinary technical problems and deliver measurable improvements in performance, yield, reliability, or cost.
- Excellent technical communication and executive presentation skills; demonstrated ability to mentor senior technical talent.
- Preferred: expertise in FinFET, Nanosheet, lateral/vertical GAA, CFET, TCAD, compact modeling, SPICE validation, DTCO/STCO, and advanced test structure/process control strategies.
- Preferred: patents, publications, experience with building engineering analytics, automation, AI/ML methods, and collaboration with suppliers, foundries, or research institutions.
Education Requirements
MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Semiconductor Engineering, Applied Physics, Materials Science, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience with a demonstrated record of exceptional technical achievement may be considered.
