Pre-Silicon Validation Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Core Level Validation (CLV) team to plan and execute pre-silicon validation for Intel Core IP used in desktops, notebooks, servers and cloud CPUs. The role focuses on verifying core features, power-management flows, and external interfaces to memory and SoC.

You will develop validation plans, implement stimulus and coverage, build test environments, identify gaps, and work closely with validation clusters, designers, architects and verification engineers to close issues before tape-out.

Responsibilities

The core responsibilities are hands-on validation engineering and cross-team collaboration:

  • Develop and write validation plans (VP) for core features and interfaces.
  • Implement validation: create stimulus, coverage, and tests; build and maintain test environments.
  • Identify validation gaps and propose practical solutions during execution.
  • Work with designers, architects, verification engineers and cluster teams to debug pre-silicon issues.
  • Execute test suites, analyze results, and document findings and coverage metrics.

  • Must-have: Strong teamwork, communication, problem-solving skills, and high motivation; ability to learn verification flows and tools quickly.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with CPU architecture; experience developing integrated software/hardware environments; experience with SVTB, UVM or Specman (e).

Education Requirements

B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
