Job Title

Pre-Si Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Work on front-end verification for a next-generation client SoC, ensuring functional correctness before silicon tape-out through simulation, emulation, and advanced verification methodologies. The role sits on the compute die frontend design and verification team and collaborates with architecture, RTL, post-silicon, and validation teams.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” requires approximately 5 to 12 years of relevant front-end pre-silicon verification experience.

Responsibilities

Deliver and execute verification plans and environments for SoC/subsystem/IP verification; perform debugging, coverage closure, and verification flow improvements.

  • Define and implement SoC/subsystem/IP verification plans aligned to architecture specifications.
  • Build and maintain SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches and verification environments.
  • Create constrained-random and directed test scenarios and validation content.
  • Run simulation- and emulation-based verification to validate functionality, power, and performance.
  • Debug RTL and testbench failures; perform root-cause analysis in pre-silicon environments.
  • Analyze and drive functional, code, and assertion coverage closure.
  • Document verification plans and participate in design/verification reviews.
  • Improve verification methodology, infrastructure, and automation flows; incorporate post-silicon learnings.

Requirements

Core technical skills and practical experience required for the role.

  • Must-have: Strong experience with SystemVerilog and UVM-based testbench development and verification environments.
  • Must-have: Hands-on experience with simulation and emulation platforms and running large-scale verification campaigns.
  • Must-have: Proven debug skills for RTL and testbench failures and familiarity with coverage-driven verification.
  • Must-have: Ability to develop constrained-random and directed tests and drive coverage closure.
  • Must-have: Experience collaborating with architecture, RTL design, post-silicon, and validation teams.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience applying AI/ML tools to verification coding, debugging, or automation.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience improving verification infrastructure, automation flows, or verification IP reuse.

Education Requirements

BE or B.Tech or M.Tech in Electrical/Electronics (ECE) or Computer Science. The posting specifies these degrees for candidates with the stated front-end pre-silicon verification experience.
