Job Title

Pre-Si Power and Performance System Validation Engineer

Role Summary

Join Intel's Data Center Group (DCG) as a contract engineer (18 months) to develop, test, and validate SoC-level power, thermal, and performance for data-center products. Work with architecture, design, firmware, and software teams to ensure system-level correlation and to drive performance and power optimizations.

Experience Level

Mid-level - typically requires 3+ years of relevant experience in SoC power and performance validation and pre-silicon simulation/emulation.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include validation, debugging, and infrastructure development at the SoC/system level.

  • Develop and execute SoC-level power, thermal, and performance validation and optimization plans.
  • Collaborate with architecture, design, firmware, and software teams to meet power, thermal, and performance targets.
  • Establish and run methodologies to validate hardware/software optimizations against business KPIs.
  • Perform SoC-level debug to identify root causes and resolve functional and triage failures related to power, thermal, and performance.
  • Configure and use data loggers to collect and analyze thermal and performance data.
  • Develop and maintain validation infrastructure: performance monitors, behavioral checkers, and test environments.
  • Produce validation reports and communicate results to cross-functional teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement of validation strategies, methodologies, and processes.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and constraints for initial consideration; preferred items are noted separately.

  • 3+ years experience in SoC power and performance validation.
  • Experience with pre-silicon simulation and emulation and developing/optimizing power/performance KPIs.
  • 2+ years experience debugging SoC-level power, thermal, and performance failures.
  • Experience in silicon verification, test program development, and test plan execution.
  • Experience with Python programming.
  • Knowledge of hardware/software optimizations for power and performance.
  • Familiarity with RTL, in-circuit emulation, and FPGA fast prototyping is advantageous.
  • Position is an Intel contract role (18 months) and is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.

Education Requirements

Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. Preferred: Master's degree or PhD. (Degree requirements reported in the posting; no certifications specified.)
