Job Title

Power Methodology and Analysis Engineer

Role Summary

Develop and deploy power modeling, methodology, and analysis techniques to reduce the power consumption of NVIDIA GPUs and Tegra SoCs. Collaborate with architects, performance and software engineers, ASIC design, and physical design teams to influence architectural and design decisions.

Deliver pre-silicon and unit-level analysis, tooling, and best practices that enable early insight into energy usage and drive power-efficiency improvements.

Experience Level

Entry-level; expects 1–3 years of relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include improving tools, performing analysis, and working with design teams to reduce power consumption.

  • Improve the performance and efficiency of power analysis tools.
  • Develop power optimization tools for front-end and back-end design teams.
  • Use internal tools and industry-standard pre-silicon gate-level and RTL power analysis tools to evaluate product power.
  • Develop and document pre-silicon power analysis best practices and automate workflows.
  • Perform comparative power analysis to identify trends and anomalies requiring further investigation.
  • Work with architects and RTL designers to interpret power data, identify power bugs, and drive fixes.

Requirements

Must-have skills and capabilities:

  • Understanding of energy consumption, estimation, and low-power design concepts.
  • Familiarity with Verilog and ASIC design principles, including logic cells.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++.
  • Ability to formulate and analyze algorithms and assess time/memory complexity.
  • Good verbal and written English and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Data-driven approach to analysis and decision-making.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with power tools and flow development.
  • Hands-on experience leveraging AI tools for engineering productivity.

Education Requirements

MS with 1–3 years of related experience, or PhD preferred, in related technical fields; equivalent practical experience may be considered.
