Job Title

Power Management Firmware Architect

Role Summary

As a Power Management Firmware Architect on Intel's SoC firmware team, you will define firmware architecture and HW–firmware interfaces to deliver power-efficient, secure, high-performance CPU platforms. You will collaborate across hardware, firmware, and software teams to translate product requirements into firmware designs and guide implementation.

Work model: hybrid, typically 4 days onsite at the assigned Intel site (Petah-Tikva or Haifa).

Experience Level

Senior — requires at least 8 years of firmware development experience and 3+ years in firmware architecture or system-level design.

Responsibilities

The role focuses on firmware architecture, specification, security and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Define architectural frameworks for embedded firmware emphasizing security and high performance.
  • Translate complex product-level requirements into detailed firmware specifications.
  • Design algorithms and interaction patterns between firmware, software, and hardware components.
  • Lead vulnerability assessments and threat analyses; define mitigations and close security gaps.
  • Provide architecture guidance, validate designs and implementations, and mentor engineering teams.
  • Evaluate feasibility and risks of adopting new technologies and contribute to product roadmap research.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • 8+ years firmware development experience in C/C++.
  • 3+ years of firmware architecture or system-level design with a cross-stack perspective (hardware, firmware, software).
  • Deep knowledge of embedded system mitigations and RTOS environments.
  • Hands-on experience developing firmware for ARM or Xtensa CPUs under RTOS and/or bare metal.
  • Ability to produce clear, implementable firmware requirements and specifications.
  • Experience with vulnerability assessment and threat analysis for firmware.

Nice-to-have: experience with secured firmware design patterns, formal architecture documentation, and training/mentoring teams.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field is required per posting.
