Job Title

Power Integrity Engineer

Role Summary

The Power Integrity Engineer designs and validates power delivery and decoupling solutions for platforms, boards, packages, and silicon to meet performance and reliability targets. The role involves simulation, model extraction, specification derivation, and cross-functional collaboration across silicon, package and platform teams.

This position is part of Intel Products Group and requires on-site presence in Penang, Malaysia.

Experience Level

Entry-level - suitable for candidates with 0–2 years of relevant experience or recent graduates (Master's with no prior professional experience also acceptable).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on power-delivery analysis, specification, verification, and cross-team integration.

  • Deliver power integrity solutions for high-speed platforms, boards, packages, and silicon.
  • Perform 2D/3D model extraction, noise analysis, and power-delivery network (PDN) simulations.
  • Define power-grid and VR specifications balancing integrity, performance, and area.
  • Design test structures and verify PDNs against pre-silicon estimations.
  • Develop platform-level power shapes and decoupling strategies for end customers.
  • Derive platform specifications from silicon requirements and ensure feature/voltage regulation convergence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize power integrity across silicon, package, and platform integration.

Requirements

Key technical skills and experience required or preferred for the role.

  • Must-have: Proficiency with EDA tools such as Cadence Sigrity, Synopsys HSPICE, or equivalent simulation software.
  • Strong understanding of platform-level power delivery and voltage regulator (VR) performance characterization techniques.
  • Practical experience with 2D and 3D model extraction and noise analysis methodologies.
  • Ability to perform electrical analysis and validate power delivery networks.
  • Good collaboration and communication skills for cross-functional work.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with industry trends in power integrity and prior experience developing decoupling solutions at the platform level.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, or a related field (with 0–2 years of hands-on experience gained via internships, academic projects, coursework, or training) OR a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with no prior professional experience. Related practical experience from internships or project work is explicitly referenced.
