Power Integrity Engineer

Role Summary

Work within Intel's Silicon and Platform Engineering Group to design, analyze, and verify power delivery networks for platforms, boards, packages, and silicon. The role focuses on ensuring power integrity, minimizing on-die and platform noise, and delivering specifications and decoupling solutions that meet product performance and reliability targets.

This position is eligible for Intel's hybrid work model and requires collaboration with silicon integration, package design, and platform teams to converge on design and validation strategies.

Experience Level

Entry-level (minimum 2 years relevant experience in electrical design at silicon, package, or board level).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include modeling, analysis, validation, and cross-team coordination to deliver robust power delivery networks.

• Develop and analyze power delivery networks; perform 2D/3D model extraction and noise analysis across die, bumps, package, sockets, and boards.
• Define power grid specifications and power/area targets to balance power integrity and performance.
• Design test structures, electrical analysis methodologies, and verification plans for power integrity challenges.
• Measure and characterize power noise profiles across frequency, including ground bounce and other critical metrics; verify post-design networks.
• Correlate measurements with presilicon analysis to improve estimation accuracy.
• Advise simulations and physical implementations for package and platform power networks, ensuring on-die power noise meets SoC functionality and performance.
• Collaborate with die floor planning and package teams to optimize on-die decoupling and package decoupling schemes.
• Derive platform-level specifications from silicon specs and drive convergence on features, form factors, and voltage regulator performance.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.

Must-have:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical design at silicon, package, or board level.
• Advanced English communication skills (written and oral).
• Advanced experience with electrical characterization tools and methodologies.
• Intermediate knowledge of power integrity design, power delivery networks, and hardware architecture fundamentals.
• Experience performing power and performance analysis and optimization.
• Intermediate knowledge of package fundamentals and voltage regulation principles.

Nice-to-have / Preferred:

• Experience with electrical simulation tools such as Sigrity PowerSI, PowerDC, HSpice, Matlab, or HFSS.
• Proven collaboration skills across teams and disciplined execution under tight schedules.
• Ability to align technical solutions with business goals and customer needs.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Electronic Engineering is required.
