Power Delivery Validation Intern

Role Summary

Internship role on the Power Delivery / Validation team within Intel's Data Center Group working on validation of power delivery for next-generation high-performance CPUs and their interfaces.

The intern will support validation, characterization, and optimization of integrated voltage regulators and the power delivery network, develop automation and data-acquisition tools, and perform hands-on lab measurements. This role involves close collaboration with designers, architects, pre-silicon teams, manufacturing, and other cross-functional partners.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities for the intern position:

  • Perform validation, characterization, and optimization of integrated voltage regulators and power delivery networks for CPUs and interfaces.
  • Develop automation software and tools for validation, test control, and data acquisition.
  • Use lab equipment to measure and characterize power delivery and regulator performance.
  • Contribute to development of validation strategies, plans, and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, architecture, manufacturing and pre-silicon groups.
  • Document results and follow industry best practices for quality and design reviews.
  • Support assigned tasks with ownership, responsiveness to feedback, and the ability to manage multiple assignments.
  • Intern must be willing to work at least 30 hours per week.

Requirements

Must-have skills and conditions to be considered:

  • Minimum ~3 months experience with power electronics and DC voltage regulators.
  • Familiarity with control systems theory.
  • Programming experience in Python or C++ (ability to develop automation/data-acquisition scripts/tools).
  • Advanced English proficiency.
  • Must have unrestricted, permanent right to work in Mexico (no visa/immigration sponsorship available).
  • Availability to work a minimum of 30 hours per week.

Nice-to-have / preferred:

  • Knowledge of computer architecture.
  • Intermediate Python programming skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret electronic component datasheets.

Education Requirements

Must be an enrolled student pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or possess equivalent practical experience.
