Job Title

Power Architecture Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Power Architecture Group responsible for end-to-end power aspects of NVIDIA ASICs, including power analysis, architecture, low-power design, verification, UPF methodologies, and post-silicon correlation. The role contributes to power estimation models/tools, system-level power features, verification, and silicon validation to improve energy efficiency.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Early career. The posting requests candidates with 1+ years of relevant experience in power analysis, power design, power-aware verification, or related areas.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include technical design, verification, and validation related to chip power and power-management features.

  • Architect, develop, verify, and correlate power estimation models and tools for product designs.
  • Design system-level power features to optimize dynamic and leakage power across use cases.
  • Plan and execute power verification (structural, functional, and power-aware), write test plans and testcases, and build testbench components (monitors, assertions, coverage).
  • Drive verification convergence across RTL, gate netlists, and silicon.
  • Validate power features on silicon, perform studies, and contribute to Performance/Watt improvements.
  • Develop power-management solutions and enable energy-efficiency innovations across product portfolios.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for this role.

  • Strong fundamentals in transistor-level leakage and dynamic behavior of VLSI circuits.
  • Strong digital-design fundamentals and practical Verilog experience.
  • Familiarity with low-power design techniques: multi-VT, clock gating, power gating, voltage islands, DVFS.
  • Knowledge of power estimation techniques, flows, and algorithms.
  • Knowledge of power-intent formats such as UPF or CPF.
  • Experience with static power-check tools (e.g., VCLP/CLP) and dynamic power verification tools (e.g., VCS-NLP) or equivalents.

Nice-to-have:

  • Python or other programming skills with object-oriented design experience.
  • Experience with power-analysis tools (PTPX, EPS) or lab setups for power measurements (oscilloscope, DAQ) and board-level power debugging.
  • Strong debugging and cross-team communication skills.

Education Requirements

Posting specifies B.Tech. or M.Tech.; no specific field-of-study was listed. The role expects at least 1+ years of relevant power-related experience. No certifications were specified.
