Power Architecture Engineer
NVIDIAJob Title
Power Architecture Engineer
Role Summary
Engineer on the Power Architecture Group responsible for power analysis, power-aware architecture and verification, and post-silicon power correlation for NVIDIA products. The role focuses on building and validating power estimation models/tools, designing system-level power features, and improving energy efficiency across product use cases.
Experience Level
Entry-level. The posting expects approximately 2+ years of relevant industry experience in power analysis, power design, power-aware verification, or related areas.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Architect, develop, verify and correlate power estimation models and tools for product designs.
- Design system-level power features to optimize dynamic and leakage power across use cases.
- Plan and execute power verification (structural, functional, power-aware): write test plans and testcases; build testbench components such as monitors, assertions, and coverage points.
- Drive verification convergence across RTL, gate-level, and silicon.
- Validate power features on silicon, perform measurements and analyses, and contribute to performance-per-watt improvements.
- Develop power management solutions and contribute to energy-efficiency innovations.
- Support post-silicon power correlation and feature bring-up, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Requirements
Must-have:
- Strong fundamentals in transistor-level leakage and dynamic characteristics of VLSI circuits.
- Strong fundamentals in digital design and Verilog.
- Familiarity with low-power design techniques: multi-VT, clock gating, power gating, voltage islands, DVFS.
- Background in power estimation techniques, flows, and algorithms.
- Knowledge of power intent formats (UPF/CPF) and power-aware verification methodologies.
- Experience with static power check tools (e.g. VCLP/CLP) and dynamic power verification tools (e.g. VCS-NLP) or equivalents.
Nice-to-have:
- Strong debugging and cross-team collaboration skills.
- Programming skills, preferably Python and object-oriented design.
- Exposure to power analysis tools (PTPX, EPS) or lab setups for power measurements (scope/DAQ) and board-level power analysis.
Education Requirements
Posting specifies B.Tech. or M.Tech. degree. The original posting also indicated ~2+ years of relevant experience.
