Role Summary

Join the Tensix team to define and implement power-aware architecture and modeling for high-performance AI compute systems. The role drives architectural strategy, early power estimation, and cross-discipline tradeoffs to optimize power, thermal, and delivery across chip and system levels.

This is a hands-on engineering role with responsibility for modeling, correlating pre-silicon estimates to silicon, proposing architectural changes, and influencing micro-architectural decisions.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The posting expects substantial experience (10+ years) in power architecture, modeling, and optimization.

Responsibilities

Work across architecture, RTL, and silicon teams to measure, model, and reduce power consumption.

• Predict power consumption early in architecture and track changes through RTL evolution.
• Develop and maintain power models and infrastructure integrated into CI flows.
• Propose and evaluate architectural and micro-architectural changes (power-gating, voltage domains, leakage control) to reduce power.
• Build workloads that stress real-world AI use cases to guide thermal and power-delivery design.
• Correlate pre-silicon estimates with silicon measurements and drive efficiency improvements.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and software teams to align power, performance, and area tradeoffs.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and constraints required to perform the role.

• 10+ years experience with power estimation and analysis tools such as PowerArtist, PtPX, RTL Architect, or PrimePower.
• Strong understanding of power-gating, multi-voltage domains, leakage control, and architectural power techniques.
• Proven track record of influencing architecture or microarchitecture to reduce design power.
• Proficiency in Verilog HDL and industry EDA flows (e.g., Design Compiler); strong software skills in C/C++ and Python.
• Experience optimizing power for compute datapaths and/or interconnects.
• Ability to correlate pre-silicon estimates to silicon measurements and implement corrective actions.
• Must be eligible to access U.S. export‑controlled technology; offers may be contingent on citizenship/permanent residency or prior license approval per export regulations.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience building CI-integrated power modeling infrastructure and workload-based thermal validation.
• Experience across chiplet-based systems or server and non-server market power optimization.
