Power and Performance Attainment and Feature Enablement Lead

Role Summary

Lead cross-functional technical workstreams for power and performance (PnP) on client products from pre-silicon definition through end of life. Coordinate with System and SoC Architects, firmware, OS, IP, and validation teams to set objectives, enable features, debug issues, and deliver product-level performance-per-watt goals.

Location: Austin, TX. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Accountabilities include technical leadership, defining strategies, and driving cross-functional execution for power and performance attainment.

  • Lead teams to achieve performance-per-watt targets across Client products; define test, enablement, debug, analysis, and defect-resolution strategies.
  • Set PnP objectives with System and SoC Architects and define required features and product bounding boxes.
  • Develop methodologies to integrate and optimize hardware and software power-management features for target use cases.
  • Define and enable features such as C-state/P-state algorithms, IP dynamic power management, firmware active power management, and thermal management.
  • Drive creation of product-specific strategies, test plans, risk identification, and mitigation for performance/watt and feature delivery.
  • Lead triage, debug, and resolution of power management and PnP issues across IP, firmware, OS, and silicon teams.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional leadership to integrate PnP deliverables into program workstreams and ensure seamless enablement from design through silicon validation and system deployment.
  • Provide advisory data and feedback to improve power management architecture, IP, SoC, and enablement processes.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred technical capabilities for success in the role.

  • Must-have: Demonstrated experience in product-level power/performance tradeoffs and attainment for hardware platforms.
  • Must-have: Strong system-level modeling, testing, characterization, trend analysis, and model verification skills.
  • Must-have: Practical understanding of both hardware and software power-management trade-offs and system-level thermal/power/frequency limiters.
  • Must-have: Strong analytical and debugging skills with proven root-cause analysis of power/performance issues.
  • Must-have: Proven ability to deliver large cross-functional technical projects in a matrixed environment.
  • Nice-to-have: Direct hands-on experience with APU/CPU system performance analysis, micro-architectural power management, and PC architecture/system testing.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with SoC design, validation, pre- and post-silicon power optimization, RTL/physical-design trade-offs, and multi-site program delivery.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree (BS) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a relevant discipline as stated in the posting.
