Role Summary

Lead a post-silicon validation team within AMD's NBIO organization to plan, execute, and improve IP silicon validation, debugging, and production release processes. Work with senior technical and program leadership to ensure on-time delivery and high quality of IP and system-level silicon.

The role combines people management, cross-functional coordination, and hands-on oversight of post-silicon debug infrastructure, test execution, and issue resolution across distributed teams.

Experience Level

Senior-level (Manager). Management or technical leadership experience is expected; specific years of experience were not stated.

Responsibilities

Own planning, execution, and delivery of post-silicon validation and debug for IP and platform releases.

  • Manage and mentor a team of engineers; assign work, monitor workload and progress.
  • Define IP validation plans, deliverables, milestones, and metrics.
  • Deploy and maintain post-silicon debug infrastructure: hardware, software, automation, and lab setups.
  • Coordinate schedules and execution with Debug, Platform, Firmware, ATE, and peer validation teams.
  • Drive technical discussions to resolve issues and implement technical initiatives.
  • Track execution and debug progress; provide status and issue reports to program leadership.
  • Implement change control, issue management, and continuous improvement processes; capture lessons learned.
  • Operate effectively in a high-demand, fast-paced environment with concurrent projects.

Requirements

Key skills and experience expected. Items under "Education Requirements" have been moved to the Education section below.

  • Must-have: Management or technical leadership experience with demonstrated ability to deliver multi-project programs.
  • Must-have: Hands-on experience with post-silicon bring-up, system/IP level debug, and validation execution.
  • Experience deploying or working with debug infrastructure, lab automation, and test environments.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware architecture (CPU/APU, x86, PCIe, memory, bus logic) and software/firmware interactions (drivers, BIOS, firmware usage).
  • Familiarity with high-speed I/O technologies and protocols and test-plan/test-development processes.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; experience working with distributed teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement and manage change control and issue tracking systems.
  • Nice-to-have: IP or SoC design/validation background and familiarity with common collaboration and ticketing tools.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical degree; equivalent practical experience also acceptable.
