Job Title

Post Silicon Validation Intern - 2027

Role Summary

Work on post-silicon bring-up, validation, and characterization of low-power features, high-speed I/O, and PLL/clock innovations for next-generation GPUs and SoCs. Join the Silicon Co-design Group to develop validation methodologies, test plans, automation, and data-driven analysis to productize NVIDIA chips.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship; intended for current graduate students (Master's level).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Create validation methodologies, develop test plans and test cases, and execute post-silicon bring-up and characterization for low-power features, high-speed I/O, and PLL/clock subsystems.
  • Perform system-level use-case analysis, profiling, and return-on-investment investigations; prototype and validate control policies for production readiness.
  • Develop tools and scripts to automate product definitions, data collection, test execution, and results analysis; provide detailed functionality, performance, and latency analysis.
  • Debug and troubleshoot system-level issues related to low-power design, high-speed I/O, and clock/PLL behavior.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

  • Knowledge of MOSFETs, digital design, circuit analysis, computer architecture, BIOS, drivers, and software applications.
  • Hands-on lab experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, and DAQ systems.
  • Scripting experience in Python and/or Perl.
  • Experience using AI-assisted tools for scripting and data analysis to improve efficiency.
  • Strong communication, rapid learning, problem-solving, and collaborative interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a hardware lab and perform debugging and bring-up tasks.

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with Low Power Design, high-speed interfaces (PCIe, USB, UFS, CXL, UCIe) and clock/PLL topics.

Education Requirements

Pursuing a Master’s degree in Microelectronics, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering/Science, or related technical field (posting specifies candidates pursuing a Master’s).
