Job Title
Post Silicon and System Validation Engineer
Role Summary
The engineer will enable, develop and validate firmware and system-level software for high-end mixed-signal IP. The role spans silicon bring-up, system validation, firmware development tightly coupled to FPGA silicon, IP and boards.
Work closely with architecture, design, software and tools teams to identify issues, implement validation strategies and deliver robust production-ready solutions.
Experience Level
Mid-level β typically requires 5+ years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include silicon bring-up, system validation, firmware development and cross-functional debugging.
- Develop and validate system-level firmware closely coupled to FPGA silicon, IP and boards.
- Perform silicon bring-up and debug prototype-to-production issues; document findings and fixes.
- Design and execute validation plans and test cases to ensure functional coverage.
- Use hardware and software tools to diagnose issues across firmware, IP and board levels.
- Integrate and validate communication protocols and interfaces on target platforms.
- Create and maintain debug and validation infrastructure, scripts and automation.
- Collaborate with architecture, RTL/design, software and test teams to resolve cross-domain issues.
Requirements
Key qualifications and skills; must-have items are listed first, followed by useful but optional skills.
-
Must-have: 5+ years of relevant experience in system or silicon validation and debugging.
-
Must-have: Proficiency in Python for scripting and test automation.
-
Must-have: Hands-on experience with hardware and software debugging (board bring-up, JTAG, logic analyzers, etc.).
-
Must-have: Solid understanding of design principles and data structures; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate technical issues clearly.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience with mixed-signal IP, FPGA platforms, system-level programming closely coupled to silicon, or familiarity with high-speed communication protocols.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
