PMIC Design Engineer

Role Summary

Join Qualcomm's PMIC analog design team in Bangalore to design, verify, and validate mixed-signal power management integrated circuits for mobile, compute, AR/VR, automotive and IoT platforms. The role works within a global PMIC design community and collaborates with cross-functional teams through definition, simulation, layout oversight and silicon bring-up.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include delivering block-level analog/mixed-signal PMIC solutions and supporting silicon evaluation.

  • Define, design, verify, and document mixed-signal power-management circuits and blocks.
  • Execute design and verification strategies for assigned blocks under technical lead supervision.
  • Perform circuit simulation, functional checks and post-silicon debug to validate specs.
  • Oversee layout activities and participate in silicon evaluation and yield bring-up.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor products relevant to power management.
  • Communicate technical status and trade-offs to peers and stakeholders; collaborate across teams.
  • Contribute to next-generation initiatives and innovation within the PMIC organization.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for success in this position.

Must-have:

  • Proven experience designing analog and mixed-signal PMIC circuits (power electronics, regulators, control loops).
  • Hands-on experience with circuit simulation and verification workflows leading to silicon.
  • Experience with layout review and coordinating silicon bring-up and debug.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard tools such as Cadence ADE and MathWorks MATLAB.
  • Strong problem solving, written and verbal communication, and ability to work in cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with Verilog/Verilog-AMS, SystemVerilog or behavioral/UVM modeling for mixed-signal verification.
  • Expertise in areas such as high-accuracy data converters, low-power references, high-bandwidth amplifiers, electro-migration and transistor reliability.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering or related field with 6+ years of relevant hardware engineering experience; OR Master's degree in those fields with 5+ years' experience; OR PhD in those fields with 4+ years' experience. Equivalent practical experience is acceptable where specified by the employer.
