PMIC Analog Design Manager
Role Summary
Lead an analog design team developing Power Management ICs (PMICs) for personal electronics. This is a techno-managerial role: contribute to architecture and circuit design, oversee silicon bring-up and customer qualification, and manage team delivery.
Collaborate with layout, systems, verification and validation teams and work directly with customers to translate system-level requirements into silicon solutions.
Experience Level
Senior - 10+ years of analog/mixed-signal IC design experience with a strong track record in power management; 2+ years of direct experience managing analog design engineers.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include technical leadership, program delivery, and people management across PMIC projects.
- Lead and grow an analog design team: hiring, mentoring, performance management, and career development.
- Drive technical execution across the full PMIC development cycle: architecture, circuit design, schematic/simulation, layout review, silicon bring-up, characterization, and customer qualification.
- Make architectural and design tradeoffs to meet power, area, efficiency, and performance targets.
- Collaborate with layout, systems, verification, validation, and cross-functional stakeholders to meet schedule and quality goals.
- Communicate program status, risks, and technical decisions to senior leadership and customers.
- Work directly with customers on technical alignment and specification definition when required.
- Manage multiple concurrent design tasks on aggressive schedules with high autonomy.

- Must-have: 10+ years analog/mixed-signal IC design experience with demonstrated power-management expertise; 2+ years managing analog design engineers in a semiconductor/IC design environment.
- Deep expertise in power converter topologies: buck, boost, LDO, charge pump.
- Hands-on experience across the IC design flow: schematic, simulation, layout review, silicon bring-up, and characterization.
- Strong written and verbal communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Nice-to-have: PMIC design for consumer electronics (mobile, laptops, wearables); proficiency with Cadence Virtuoso and Spectre; worst-case/top-level/Monte Carlo analysis and post-layout PEX verification.
- Experience in physical layout review (power routing, grounding, thermal management, die area optimization) and familiarity with advanced CMOS process nodes.
- Exposure to tools such as Simplis or AMS; experience driving customer technical discussions and mentoring engineers through complex design challenges.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field required; Master's or PhD preferred. (Posting lists Bachelor's degree level and indicates advanced degrees are preferred.)
