Platform Hardware and Systems Engineering - Intern, Bachelor’s
Role Summary
Internship on a platform hardware and systems engineering team working on architecture, design, integration, validation, and optimization of compute platforms. The intern will execute defined technical projects, collaborate with cross-functional engineers, and contribute to platform capabilities and performance.
Experience Level
Entry-level (Intern). Position is intended for students; internship starts in Spring or Summer 2027 with options for year-long internships or co-ops.
Responsibilities
Work on platform hardware and systems engineering tasks and deliver technical outcomes under mentorship.
- Support hardware and systems architecture, design, and integration activities.
- Perform platform validation, debug, and performance analysis.
- Work on power, thermal, and signal integrity engineering tasks.
- Develop automation, scripting, and programming solutions; explore AI-enabled tooling where applicable.
- Collaborate across functions to advance platform features and deployment readiness.
Requirements
Key qualifications and skills (degree requirements are listed in Education Requirements below).
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability and effective verbal/written communication.
- Experience or interest in design, architecture, programming, scripting, data analysis, automation, modeling, simulation, validation, or debugging.
- Hands-on project, research, lab, internship, or student-organization experience relevant to hardware or systems tasks.
- Ability to work collaboratively in team-based, cross-functional environments.
- Eligible to start in the specified internship window (Spring/Summer 2027) and able to work in a hybrid model at the assigned Intel site.
- Note: This position is not eligible for employment-based visa/immigration sponsorship.
Education Requirements
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, or a related STEM field. The role requires at least 3+ months of relevant experience, which may be satisfied through coursework, academic projects, research, internships, co-ops, student organizations, or similar practical experiences. GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
