Physical Verification Intern
Role Summary
The Physical Verification Intern will join Technology Enablement within Global Operations to develop and automate physical verification flows, work with EDA physical verification tools, and support internal design enablement teams.
This role reports to mentors on the Physical Verification team. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Experience Level
Entry-level β Internship for current college students (undergraduate or graduate).
Responsibilities
Internship projects vary by business needs; typical responsibilities include:
- Develop physical verification decks and QA unit-cells for design rules.
- Build automated QA regression flows for DRC decks.
- Automate enablement and verification flows.
- Use physical-verification EDA tools and scripting to validate designs.
- Support internal customers to resolve verification issues and document findings.
Requirements
Key skills and attributes expected:
- Analog/RF coursework or practical experience.
- Knowledge of physical design flows and IC manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency with scripting languages such as TCL and Python.
- Familiarity with Git or other version-control systems.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Preferred: experience writing unit tests and exposure to AI-assisted tools.
Education Requirements
Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related technical field (college student status required).
